Old School , pull out that old Forman Grill and dust it off….You’ve got the makings of a really good hot pressed sandwich on that George Foreman.

Ingredients

For 1 big sandwich:

2 slices sturdy bread, sourdough, Texas toast, or sandwich bread
3–4 slices sandwich ham
2–3 slices cheese — American, cheddar, Swiss, provolone, or whatever you have
2 slices cooked bacon
A few thin onion slices
Dill pickle slices
Hot pickle slices
Banana peppers
2 thin tomato slices
Lettuce
Butter or mayonnaise for the outside of the bread

Quick Knock Out Sandwich sauce:
Mix together:

1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1 teaspoon mustard
1 teaspoon pickle juice
Tiny pinch garlic powder
Black pepper

* For a stronger “deli sandwich” flavor, add a little Italian seasoning, garlic powder, or red pepper flakes to the sauce.

Directions

Heat the George Foreman grill.

Spread the outside of each bread slice lightly with butter or mayonnaise. Spread the sandwich sauce on the inside.

Build it in this order:

Bread → cheese → ham → bacon → onion → dill pickles → hot pickles → banana peppers → cheese → bread

Putting cheese on both sides helps hold everything together.

Place the sandwich on the grill and gently close the lid. Don’t mash it down hard.

Cook about 3–5 minutes, until the bread is browned and crisp and the cheese is melted.

Then open the sandwich and add the tomato and lettuce after grilling. That keeps the lettuce crisp and prevents the tomato from making the sandwich soggy.

Make it even better

Before assembling, you can put the onions directly on the George Foreman for 2–3 minutes with a little butter, salt, and pepper. Slightly grilled onions would be excellent on this.
