“Filthy Cabbage” is a viral one-pot recipe (ground beef, cabbage, peppers, in a savory beef gravy).

Ingredients

2 lb ground beef (80/20)
1 large head green cabbage, chopped into bite-sized pieces
1 large white onion, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 yellow bell pepper, diced
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
3 tbsp tomato paste
2 tbsp garlic, minced
1¾ cups beef broth (low sodium)
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp Salt-Free Cajun/Creole seasoning (e.g. Tony's)
1 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper (optional)

Directions

Here are the directions:
1. Brown the ground beef in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Do NOT drain the fat.
2. Push the beef to the sides of the pot. Add the tomato paste to the center and cook for 2 minutes.
3. Add the onion, red pepper, and yellow pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
4. Add the flour and mix thoroughly. Stir in the Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, black pepper, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce.
5. Add the garlic and simmer for 5 minutes.
6. Add the chopped cabbage in batches if needed, stirring until fully coated in the gravy.
7. Cover and reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the cabbage reaches your preferred texture.
8. If the sauce is too runny, cook uncovered for a few minutes to thicken. Serve hot with rice, or eat it on its own.
